VAUTID celebrates 80th company anniversary

Eighty years ago, Dr.-Ing. Hans Wahl defined the fundamentals of tribology and used his knowledge to establish a new industry of metal technology. VAUTID wear protection technology with carbides, was born and remains the global benchmark for high-quality wear protection for steel and machinery. From the very beginning, the focus has been on solutions for a wide range of wear protection requirements. Consulting, design and the technical implementation of the most economical system solutions continue to shape the daily work of all VAUTID specialists worldwide. We are the pioneers.

VAUTID has been the brand for metal based wear protection in casting and welding technology for 80 years. All over the world we define industry standards with the VAUTID family, VAUTID 100 and other innovations. As system solution specialists, we support operators and manufacturers in the holistic minimization of wear processes – and thus pave the way for the sustainable operation of industrial plants and machines.

VAUTID wear protection is used for the initial equipping of plant and machinery as well as for the subsequent protection and overhaus of steel elements. Our product portfolio of hardfacing materials, composite plates, cast products and components comprehensively covers the requirements of mechanical process engineering. In combination with our wear protection know how and design, we develop complete system solutions for our customers.

The VAUTID GROUP and UP GROUP are active on almost all continents of the world at 15 locations worldwide, including their own research laboratories and production facilities. Around 800 employees from over 20 nations and a dense network of sales specialists are comitted to one goal – perfect wear protection solutions for our customers.

VAUTID celebrated the 80th company anniversary at this year´s Welding & Cutting trade fair in Essen and with its employees at its headquarter in Ostfildern Ruit.
